Can’t remember the last time you felt satisfied with your business? Do you often find yourself stuck in a non-productive cycle no matter how hard you work?
Unfortunately, how you feel will always have a huge impact on your business’s performance. If you’re unhappy or dissatisfied, it’s not inconceivable to see a decrease in customer traffic or revenue. If you’re positioned in the wrong place in your business, it can become increasingly difficult for you to achieve your existing goals and pursue new ones. It’s a case of you being bogged down in the wrong areas.
When someone asks me what to do when they’re stuck in a rut, I tell them to take a step back and look at how the business in general affects their energy and inspiration. If they don’t bounce out of bed enthusiastically or look forward to a day at work, it’s possible that they’re just not working in the right areas and would be better off delegating some of the things they’re doing. Give those tasks to someone who does enjoy them, to free up the business owner to work in areas that inspire them. Turns out, those areas are where the business owner’s best value lies.
As a business owner, I know all too well how challenging it is for SMEs to get unstuck and turn themselves around. Fortunately, it is far from impossible.
I’m not going to tell you to revitalise your business by putting more time and effort into it. Hard work and dedication are the foundation of a successful entrepreneurial venture, but sometimes you just have to change the way you handle tasks.
Before you decide to work harder and longer to revitalise your day-to-day operations, try this exercise: record yourself for a week. Keep track of your time, your activities, and your level of inspiration throughout each day. Write these down in three columns.
The idea here is to gauge how every single task makes you feel, and determine the areas that make your motivation skyrocket. As you record every day, you will start to have a clearer view of the tasks that keep you busy – the important ones you like to prioritise and the mundane ones you always put off for another time.
Take a good look at the tasks you often do first. Those are the ones that inspire you… they actually energize you! It’s not an exaggeration to say that paying more attention to them is the first step to getting you “unstuck” from your business. When you do them, you’re like a superhuman, with your energy and inspiration levels at an all-time high. If you put more time and effort into the areas you love, you can be sure about adding value to your business.
I know what you’re thinking … what do I do with the tasks I don’t want to do?
This is where offshore staffing comes in. Did you know you can gain access to high quality, quick-thinking, but low cost resources offshore?
In the past, one of the biggest obstacles I faced was not being able to find someone who could handle low priority necessities. This problem is now long gone, as entrepreneurs can easily delegate boring but essential activities to full-time or casual employees with an outsourcing firm. There is also someone out there bound to love that set of tasks!
If there are tasks that keep you from taking your business to new heights, delegating them to highly trained staff outside the country is a smart move. Tbelle can make it viable for you to offload tasks to highly skilled offshore employees at great value and low cost. With Tbelle, you can outsource from Australia and operate in a global market.
